we have the in-ground dog fence, ours covers about 4 acres, it has been in place for over 10 years, the wire is buried very shallow, one tip, go with the heavier gauge wire, we have never had any problem with the system, just have to change battery on the dog collar when needed, our dogs have free run of all our yard,
