Put the manure on the corn ground, or before seeding alfalfa, and buy fert for established stands. We take 4 crops, we traditionally applied after first crop and after 4th crop (for next year's 1st crop). Lately we applied after 1st, 2nd, and 4th, and upped the amounts. It seems to have helped, even last year with the drought.
