E.Central MN | Not unusual for the Midwest to have dry conditions in the spring. Until the grass starts greening up, the dead grass such as on CRP acres and in sloughs can burn out of control very rapidly in windy conditions. The people who like to "clean up" their ditches, etc by burning it better use their heads or they'll be burning a lot more than they bargained for. And that applies to the conservation groups' "controlled" burning activities, too. | |
