Cleveland, MS. Own small farm near Booneville, MS
That’s what my dad started farming with. The story my older brother told me about how he got it. He had a 1950 Chevy pickup at the time. Took a hogs or cows (not sure which) to the livestock sale in Booneville. The sale owner had the tractor. Dad saw it and made the deal to buy it. He was by himself so no one to drive it home. We lived about 10 miles out of town. He scrounged up some planks to use for a ramp and drove the front wheels into the bed of his pickup, closed the tailgate, nailed a block in front of the front tires to keep it from rolling forward, put the tractor in neutral and headed home. That was his big tractor for awhile. His little tractor was an H.
