Northville, SD
We do field after field testing different hybrids and all different seed treatments.

We have CCS seed tanks. Each has a different hybrid or seed treatment. Therefore, on a 24-row planter for instance we have every 12 rows which is checked using variety locator with combine. This is sent to the operations center and can be checked on the monitor in the summary pages.

Actually, it is every 24 rows as the return direction leaves test one next to test one.

We can do field after field which in one field the testing is done with the varying soil types.

We also use learning blocks. Each block is about 100 feet by 100 feet. When using a planter which can by prescription change populations. We have been to dial in the best population. We use high pops and lower pops. in each learning block.

We do the tests year after year until we have a consistent outcome and then will go with the consistent winner. Prescriptions and Variety locater has more value.
