Welcome to the world of "compatibility"
Its a "mess" that nearly every company in the Agritcuture IT world does leave the compatibility!
May be, farmers (customers) will wake up and buy only IT (Autosteer etc. etc. ) which will be compatible to each ather brand!
Unfortunately that removes most popular brands. Back in the day when I did the hardware side of precision, about the only brands that could use 3rd party GPS for hydraulic autosteer were Raven and TeeJet. I am not sure if that is still the case or not. No ones control modules communicated with anyone else's unless they were ISO, but that brought up the ISO compliant vs ISO compatible issues. Most US ISO controls were compatible which had plenty of problems with different displays.
Is precision equipment really any different than tractors or pickups or refrigerators. Don't buy a JD tractor because I can't put a CIH transmission in it. Don't buy a Kenmore fridge because I can't put a GE control board in it. |
