The crop insurance prices have been released by the RMA. Corn $4.66 and Soybeans $11.55. These are down 21% and 16%, respectively, from last year. Almost all of my cash rent leases are variable, with the price input variable using the RMA prices. Holding yield steady, my cash rents will drop 21% or 16%. At least something went down.
I think all landlords feel bad for the farmers struggling to feed the world and will drop cash rents 20% |
