| I live in Pampa, and work in the oilfield industry in the affected area.
The areas north, east and west are pretty devastated from the fires. There are quite a few dead cattle from what I have seen driving down the road. There are cattle being loaded to be slaughtered or sold in the sale barn. I also know of folks that had to shoot big numbers of cows.
From my house to the north I drove 31 miles up hwy 70 and it is all burnt up.
At this time I’m being told to wait to bring hay as my in-laws want to donate hay. This area is blessed with lots of hay and supplies right now. Hay trucks and supplies are coming from everywhere.
I would recommend contacting the folks coordinating the donations to see how to best help this situation. I don’t want to deter any assistance but they are absolutely covered up in hay right now so waiting a week may be best. | |
