Main Question is wheat after corn generally a no go or can it be done? This would be spring wheat.

Next question: Is there anyone planting rye and wheat? We already have a couple hundred acres of rye in and wondering how big of a deal it would be switching to wheat from rye...

And lastly could you plant rye following wheat with few problems? I would think volunteer seed should winterkill?

"Here", it would be a horrible idea. It'll jack up the fusarium risk exponentially, versus pretty much any other crop, even corn. Too, wheat and rye in rotation pretty much promises wheat being contaminated with rye...dang near impossible to clean out.

Bottom line is planting two crops with pretty much the same disease spectrum back to back is asking for trouble. Now, if you can burn off the rye now, while it's pretty small, then sow wheat, that might not be so bad, but I still wouldn't follow a full season of wheat with rye.
