Isn't there almost always a "middle man"? I keep reading from certain poster that you are being totally financially irresponsible in his view if you do not always buy "wholesale". Problem is, can you give me a good definition of wholesale in the pesticide/fertilizer/machinery market?
Seems you would have to pick it up at the mfg loading dock to truly cut out all middle men. Probably the only thing I know you can truly do that is when picking up & hauling lime. You drove to the quarry and a loader loads you from the pile that just came out of the hole in the ground. Otherwise, can you pick up your corn seed at the XXX seed processing site & pay the CFO in the office? Can you pick up a tanker of ATZ @ the chem plant and pay the CFO sitting in the office? Can you drive to FL or CA & pick up a load of Potash or Phosphate out of a mine & pay the CFO sitting in the office? Or, do all these places make you pay (= go through) a distributor/dealer of some type?
If you're going to cut out one guy, might as well cut them all out. That kind of takes us back to our bin run bean days & seed corn hanging on nails on the upper deck of the corn cribs.
