Southern Indiana | Thanks for asking. Actually I'm out of town for a few days and my helper is looking after things while I'm gone. Plan is to first make a new tool (metal) as I broke the plastic one I had. Then pour hot water in the hole and let sit for a few minutes, then try it again.
The problem was compounded when the arm on the float valve broke off, requiring my helper to manually cap the pipe, then uncap it after the cows have drunk it down. He will deserve a healthy bonus.
This is the second tire tank I have installed, the first one has been in use for 20 years with no problems.
In hindsight, I should've installed a metal valve.
Luckily, if I break it, it is a small pond and would drain rather quickly so it can be repaired.
