childhood home of Randy Travis | I know I am not super active on here but I sure read most of what you guy write. I am certainly thankful for all the great wisdom you guys share.
We are a cow/calf herd conventionally, and have weaned our own calves for a couple seasons but we use weaning rings for the first time through the chute for vaccines, then fence line them from there moms after the booster.
I decided to grab a couple of fall born flyweights from the neighbors, straight off the farm, 1 herd, trailer weaned calves. I used all the advice I had read after pouring through many threads. So far so good.
I know I'm not out of the woods, but by the first day I had everyone bunk broke, drinking, eating salt, and not pacing. Using all techniques and advice I picked up from you guys.
So thank you. Tough love and mentorship is something all young people need.
