| We used them for training bird dogs to back. We had an old theater with a big metal building out back that was the evaporative cooler back in the 50s. It was 6 foot off the ground and about 15 foot square with spray pipes and a giant squirrel cage blower in it. We could go up there at night, spotlight them, and use a dip net to catch them. They would move around but never had many fly away. Could catch a few dozen to maybe a hundred depending on our needs. Odd thing is we never ran out. When they got really bad downtown the city would let a few of us have a shoot. That was fun with capital F. Just saying you could give them a desirable place to roost and capture most of them at night and shoot the rest either coming in or going out in the morning. | |
