Other than the Edge, I think this should work. We use an Ag Leader Seed Tube Monitoring module with a 24-30 planter. This works fine. I think you could set it up as a 22-8 and shut off the rows without sensors.

The Area should be correct since the width would be correct. The sensors should be able to keep up since for the same population and ground speed, the seeds passing by your sensors would 8/30 of what go by ours. You probably plant a bit heavier but the seeds per minute going by each sensor should still be much less.
