Latimer, Iowa (north central)
Manure is a key component.
Attaching an oat variety trial we were part of a few years ago. Farmers planting at too low of a population, doing tillage, and not using fertilizer had poorer results. We are not kitchen sink farmers on corn/beans/or oats. Prefer to use as many different sources of manure as possible and feed the soil. What works for one may not work for another but appreciate you thoughts.
