I'm guessing there are some improvements that could be made, but reliably staying between corn rows with SmarTrax is probably going above what it was spec'd for. If anything, you could upgrade from SmarTrax to SC1. The Viper 4, receiver, and hydraulic block stay the same, so that makes it a simple install. Raven dealers have a trade-in program that seems to be pretty decent going on for the next few months. It's worth checking into.
The upgrades above would help. I would also add that you need to add a wheel angle sensor. Deere has it. Your Ag Leader probably does? It has not been standard on Raven till the last few years. You can add it though. Raven does not have a good sales brochure on it but this is Ag Leader. At this point with no WAS, the controller waits for the GPS to show position, vs have a WAS it is working in tune with the GPS to get you where you need.
