| Some of us may be offended by the term "expert" , any clover will give you a nitrogen payback, Red Clover will give the most tonnage probably, White Clover if I remember correctly is the better Nitrogen fixer and more palatable, I personally use Ladino because of the N, persistence. palatability, and low cost/acre due to low seeding rate. My cows never seem to really like Red Clover, I have fields I hay and graze and the Ladino does not seem to cause drying issues for me like the red does if it gets too thick. only drawback is like other poster says if you think you have to spray, here I never spray hay, but not all areas have the same challenges. | |
