Subject: RE: Outback Steering valve

Hiawatha, KS
I looked at a model matrix for the eDriveXD and saw that the MF9695 was not listed. However, the 9690, 9790, 9795, and 9895 are listed. Someone perhaps fitted this valve to your combine with the kit that is used with the aforementioned model numbers. I have attached the installation guide for you to look at and see what all is required. You would just need to contact your nearest Outback Guidance dealer and order the kit which will have all connections and hoses. You would need a Rebel and eDriveXD to operate it. Now, let's talk about the bad news. There is no guarantee this will work as designed as it is installed on an unsupported vehicle. Meaning Outback may have tested it and did not like the results. You're looking at a 50/50 chance this will work. Your best bet is to contact the previous owner and see how it operated with this valve. The other part is, it will be hard to find a used or new eDriveXD to operate this valve as they have been discontinued. Even the valve is discontinued as Outback will no longer produce a system that utilizes a relay valve as is installed on your combine. The other part is, you would be better to buy the new MaveriX with the eDriveM1 and the ESi2 electric steering wheel. Outback does not have a hydraulic kit for the 9695. Leads me to believe there was an issue with not meeting expected results. You would have warranty and better accuracy due to the eDriveM1 being much better than the eDriveXD. The price for buying new would not be much higher than piecing this system together with no warranty. Then again, it may be cheaper buying new since buying used guidance equipment can sometimes run higher than the original purchase price.
