perryton, tx | I bought some P2 cows before Christmas, didn’t expect any calves until March but one calved last night. I was suspicious that the calf hadn’t nursed so I brought them in to get a closer look. The cow has a big but otherwise normal looking bag but only one back quarter produced any milk. The calf nursed that one some while I had her in the chute and then I offered it a bottle which she half heartedly sucked a few cups out of. Looks like I bought myself a headache because if those 3 teats don’t have milk now I can’t imagine they ever will. | |
