| For the prices SF3000s are right now, quite a few farmers are setting up their own bases for as little as $4000, something that used to exceed $10,000.
The type of system you mentioned wouldn't work for me as I'm spread out too much for even a 450 radio, but if you drive your equipment home frequently or even daily, this type of setup with a 900 radio will work with a SF6000. I wouldn't do this is a 3000 on your tractor. If you drive under a tree, you could lose your signal and it will go right back to WAAS or SF1. But a 3000 as an RTK base would be just fine. | |
