I've tried several and Nesco Original is my favorite! I've only made whole muscle jerky. I cube up beef into 1" cubes and add 50% Bourbon to water for the marinade and let it go two to three days before smoking it. I've also had good results from adding a little liquid smoke and then finishing in the dehydrator.
