Subject: but the public is told stuff like this

Pittsburg, Kansas
If a person wants to believe their own doctor and wants to be on a statin drug, this will be right down their line. Will support their position. Confirmation bias (which I also am guilty of, for sure). Yet almost the exact opposite what the science David Diamond was presenting.

It boils down to who you want to believe. A person can find supporting evidence for anything they want to believe.

Sometimes it is not what they say that is important, but what they omit or represent poorly. For example the difference between relative risk and absolute risk. You will never hear a TV ad for statins that talk about this.

Edit: relative risk vs absolute risk discussed starting just before the 30 minute mark in David Diamond's presentation.
