Subject: Re: Outback E-Drive with Baseline

Soutwest Ks.
I ran their pre-release model this fall with strip till application. It does work quite well, however no terrain compensator at this point, so depending upon your terrain may or may not be satisfactory. It is not a very sophisticated system and the accuracy will probably never be quite as good as the more expensive Trimble RTK or Deere. I believe the signal they are using is accurate and stabil but the ability of the e-drive unit itself may not always be able to steer accurate enough. Remember for the price you quoted you will not be able to map unless you buy the 360 unit and it is also quite limited with what you can do. At this point, unless they changed it in the last few wks. they didn't have the ability to store multiple AB lines. I know they are working on this and also the terrain compensator but I don't know release date. For what I paid for my unit, I am happy but I was aware of some of the limitations of the unit before I purchased.
