I think if you already have a subcription you can continue with desktop for now, but a person cannot start new with desktop payroll.
As I am trying to reduce my workload, I have searched hard enough that I have found a local CPA firm to do it for me for the same cost as the subscriptions you mention.
In doing my outsourcing, direct depost is what gets very expensive thru QB
