Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | I just went through this since I purchased a newer refurbished computer and moved my older computer to my basement lab.
Along with the newer refurbished computer I also purchased a 2 Tb San Disk USB external drive. I plugged it into the older computer and copied important documents to it. I then plugged it into the newer computer where it will stay. I downloaded and installed Libre Office on the newer machine. This means I have access to my older documents on the newer machine and can move forward.
My needs are minor compared to a business. I found that Libre Office works very well for me and is free. It has far more features than I will ever use. I have had no problem opening documents created by Microsoft Office, manipulating them and then saving them in the Libre Office format for future use.
When installing Libre Office, it was suggested that I make a contribution to the cause. Since I felt the product was/is very useful to me, I made a modest donation.
