| thanks Bryce. that is my issue here. land around me is too high (I know I know), but its mostly being sold in small tracts to the hobby type people so I don't see it coming down. We have existing calf barns that sit idle 6 months of the year anyway so figure if it made some sense we could build one more small barn and be basically year round confinement, save trucking them out to clean up our alfalfa fields after fall freeze. unless I fall into a money pit in the near future I'm afraid confinement may be the way to go for us just due to initial capital outlay. Not sure what issue that brings as far as longevity to the ewes etc.
will try the pipestone long distance program, thats a good idea.
EDIT to add: I guess we would be in the "sheep central" package as we are further than 225 miles away.
