| We've sort of accidentally gotten into sheep. Was not going to be using our calf barns for around 4 months (we cut back our fall calving dairy cows this year), so did some feeder lambs and now have lambing out some Nov/Dec lambing ewes.
We are definitely just "getting by" and using what we have, but it has been working well so far. Wanted to know if there are any partially or fully confined COMMERCIAL sheep operations that we could contact and visit just to learn more. We won't be converting calf barns to full sheep any time soon, but I'm sure we could pick up some ideas that would make this more efficient for the 100 or so we are doing. Would like to see barn layouts / working facilities and mostly what issues they run into being in barns vs pasture.
Thanks guys.
Edit to Add: I have tried contacting the people at the Pipestone Sheep Program, but so far have not gotten any call backs. I assume this is because we are not in the class or in the program, so reaching out here
