Subject: Cattle cubes vs protein tubs?

Georgia
Looking for opinions on supplementing my cow calf herd this winter. I have 12 head that are bred second trimester. I have more than enough hay but it is not a high quality hay. None of it was fertilized. In the years past I’ve fed 25% protein tubs as a supplement to my poor quality hay. I feel like my cattle overeat on the protein tubs. They seem to last half as long as the label recommends for daily consumption. I can buy 20% cattle cubes for 13.50$ a bag or 200lb 25% cattle tubs for 79$ which is the way to go? I can control how much cubes they eat but worried 20% may not be enough? I wish I could buy alfalfa square bales but nobody grows it anywhere near here in central Georgia.
