Pittsburg, Kansas | I have been on and off the drug for the last year (after quitting it about 4 years ago). I hear of the benefits and will use it for a few months, with quite frankly little results in imporvement of my blood sugar levels. Well I just had one of my favorite insulin specialist researchers put the last nail in the metformin coffin. If it is is going to undo my exercise program, it is not for me. Hard enough for me to get excited about exercise as it is. I've been doing some sprinting, walking, push ups and squats (pull ups when at home where I have a bar).
Then Ben Bikman tells me this. Start at about minute 29 or 30 to get to the punch line. If a person is going to be sedentary and just wants a pill to help out, it would probably be ok. But I don't want it doing what he says it is doing when I am making the effort to improve my health through exercise.

For any diabetic or anyone not wanting to become a diabetic, the whole presentation is a must watch. Unfortunately it is given to a foreign audience so some of the measurements are in units we don't normally use here in the US. But the ideas are all universal.
