If you have a king size bed, would you measure it for me?

I know a king mattress is 80"x76".  When I made our bed I made it too long for the mattress and I think it could have been narrower too.

I'm making another bed for somebody else and I don't want to make the opening for the mattress too small or too big.  I was hoping somebody had a commercial king size bed  they would measure from headboard to foot and from inside rail to inside rail.

I've asked about dimension for this bed and found the overall dimensions and I'm building a prototype but once the actual bed is done and shipped I won't be able to modify anything.

Thank you to anybody who helps.

Our Amish-made king is just a hair over 77" between the side rails, and the box spring sets perfectly in between.

The end-to-end is 80 3/8", and that leaves about 1 1/4" gap at the headboard.
