Which would you prefer? higher moisture is softer and tastier. If it soaks long enough and isn't cold, it will ferment and they'll love it even more. more digestible, faster etc. In the old, old days, it was common to cook grains for livestock, labor being cheap and grain being expensive. Poor/cheap farmers ate the same as the livestock.
