| I generally graze mine till Feb or March. Last year I went till the first week of May. I probably had an extra 10-15% waste over the stuff grazed in Nov.
I occasionally have issues with fusarium infection in the cobs. I’ve sent samples to check for mycotoxins but all have come back clean and I haven’t noticed any ill effects. The infection is present in Oct at harvest time and never seemed to get worse over winter.
With it being a smaller paddock, if there’s much in the way of deer, elk, moose etc I wouldn’t bank on much being left. | |
