Mazon, IL | My basic ice cream recipe is 1 quart heavy cream, 1 quart half & half, 1.5 cups sugar and a teaspoon of vanilla. This will make about a gallon of vanilla ice cream.
For mint chocolate chip I will add peppermint flavor and a little green food coloring. I don’t measure this, just add till it tastes right. After it has firmed up in the ice cream churn I stir in 2 cups of mini chocolate chips. Put in freezer to harden.
Butter pecan: add butter flavor and pecan pieces in the same way as mint chocolate chip.
Black cherry: add cherry flavor, red food coloring, and cherries as above. | |
