Yea. They can put cookies on your machine, which are very small data files that can track what sites you visit, it helps them form a set of ads that fit the types of places you visit. If you look at sites that have purses and fancy dinners you get one set of ads, if you visit sites that sell hardware and construction companies you get another set of ads. This is aside from the actual YouTube videos you watch.

It seems they are always better at tracking what you do on line. I’m not sure what else they follow along with.

Something, perhaps the smart tv, perhaps the iPad cookies, can also listen in and charts key words it hears. When the wife talks about something, like cat food, she will see an ad for Purina in a few minutes.....

Gets kind of creepy doesn’t it.

Youtube is adding so many ads, and then most of what I watch the fellas spend 15% of the video telling me to buy their caps and other merchandise they are hawking, it’s getting close to giving up on YouTube for me as well.
