For less than $30 you can add 256 GB storage to your laptop. 512GB card is a little more but still under $50 total with the adapter. Lots of different Micro SD card sizes available and can be used as permanent storage. That combination will not be quite 'flush mount' in a laptop USB drive - it will stick out about as much as a wireless mouse receiver sticks out.
