Be careful with chemicals (moderation). If you kill lots of algae fast, decay sucks the oxygen out of the water and possibly cause fish kill.

The duron can kill nearby trees if roots are in the water.

Also, my fish supplier said don't use copper sulfate, hard on the fish. Idk... I never had great success with it on alge.

I do recommend dye for prevention.

Also, if your pond has a lot of muck or wasn't dug right and has topsoil in the bottom still..... it will be a battle. (Organic matter alge thrives on)
