| I see other people have the banging sound in their round baler. I have looked for several years trying to find the source. The bearings, belts, chains, idlers, are all good and no net wrap build up. The dealer has no ideas except to bring it in.
The banging starts when the unit is closed for baling and gets louder as the bale size increases. The bang seems to be in time with the PTO shaft, but I can not be certain.
This year, after 6 or 7 round bales the banging changed from a steady beat, to almost to a drum solo - And then it stopped ! It has not come back.
Does anybody know what the cause might be ? I am afraid something is going to break in the middle of a large harvest. I would like to know the cause so I can fix it.
