Subject: RE: How deep for soy?

We planted all of the soybeans 2.75-3" at the WIU Organic Research Farm this year.

The conventional till beans ended up even deeper because we moved away some dry soil with residue managers and then leveled the field with a tine weeder.

The conventional till beans planted last Tuesday were starting to emerge yesterday.

BTW I recently looked at some data from a Cornell U organic no-till study that showed good emergence and performance of soybeans planted as deep as 3.25".
