IMHO it doesn't take much effort if you spread the fill material in thin layers between packing. A box scraper will actually work very well if you have dry fill and spend a fair amount of time making laps. I just got done with my bin pad and I had to hire it out because I didn't have the time to do it myself. The crews self-propelled sheeps foot is still sitting in my field.
