That reminds me of a story my mother told me several times. She was born and raised in Cuba, came to the US before the revolution. When she was growing up she and some friends would pour a circle of gas around a scorpion and light it. The scorpion would sting itself to death because it thought it would otherwise burn to death.
Any of y’all have scorpions?
