The size listed on most tap/drill charts is 75% of the actual minor diameter of the thread. As previously posted, if you don’t have the drill called for always upsize. You have plenty of cushion. Mystic Metal Mover is good stuff, it is my tapping fluid of choice for steel/iron and is a good penetrating oil and light lubricant.
