| Tsm is the like the factory. Or “foundry”. Nvidia does all the design. Tsm right now is the bottle neck for advanced chips. The foundries take awhile to get running. Amd also does design. But so does Intel and Samsung. Intel and Samsung have invested a lot in foundries lately, although they use tsm still I think. But they aren’t the best at either design or fabricating. Tsm specialized in foundries so they are the best at that I guess. And nvidia doesn’t have foundries nor does Amd so they specialize in design. I guess the guy who designs the new engine is more important than the guy who builds it. However there’s another company further up the food chain called Asml I think. And they really are the most critical in the chip supply chain I guess. But yea nvidia is the bees knees for ai deep learning apparently and just seeing the disruption that will be caused by ai, I would think nvidia will be more important. I mean I thought it’d be truck drivers and fast food employees that got the boot, but it won’t just be them, but secretaries, lawyers, medical professionals,
Kinda hard to tell if this ai thing is just another stock market pump and dump or if it’s a real deal thing like when the internet came about | |
