My wife is the third born in a family of fifteen kids but they moved into our area from an area that had large families. She has had no desire to have a large family so we had two. The area her family moved away from is good solid hard working German Catholic. I am from a small Protestant family of two kids so I had to do some adjusting to do at first. LOL
I've called that 'culture shock' for 50+ years. I grew up an only. My husband is one of 8, and a twin to boot. So it was truly an adjustment, if only from a noise level standpoint. I didn't know that a fight wasn't necessarily the end all of a relationship. I've learned. I was a true and proper easy target for every button-pushing baiting scam that ever was conceived. It took years to learn to ignore the button-pusher and he'd quit. It's been an adventure!! |
