The rules are what they are. I don't fault any farmer but I also don't fault any city person. Both game the system.
I have seen many many robust balance sheet farmers spend at the end of the year to get depreciation to keep taxable income low enough to stay on Obama Care. I've seen it done to keep the kids on Hawki (state insurance for kids) and get free and reduced lunches at shcool.
Are they using borrowed money to artificially lower their income? There is a piper to pay for that if they spend like drunken sailors on land or personal items which I would assume many that pull that stunt do. |
