North Mississippi Delta / Alabama Gulf Coast | I’m installing an outside wifi range extender/repeater for same purpose when I get back to the farm.
Had oral surgery yesterday and need a week to get over. Ordered an inexpensive unit to mount on a pole 5or6 ft above roof to ‘see’ the barn for a better signal. It can be wired as a repeater for the best signal. Cameras need a strong signal to have a clear live view, especially at night. Video quality is blurred at times when signal gets weak.
I put cheap extender in carport that really works well up to about 50’ for couple of cameras at the cabin. My goal is to get a strong signal in barn to another extender for barn cameras. I pondered setting a meter at barn to get its own power/wifi but decided against it.
I will see if this effort will get satisfactory results for my needs.
