here are a bunch of details that i haven't seen yet about the new deere gen 5 display. I have more interesting is the centralization around ethernet for implements. Does this spell the end for isobus?



Probably the start of it. ISOBUS was designed to communicate basic control information, it was never designed to load megabytes of colourful control screens. The OEMs quickly outgrew what ISOBUS was designed for and are being held back by what ISOBUS is capable of. Its a bottleneck now, and they need something that can handle more traffic.

In this case they are trafficking 36x cameras worth of video in real time, but it's just the start.

Automotive is starting to move away from CANBUS and towards ethernet also. The entertainment consoles had a lot to do with that.
