I have used, but not cheap ones. Eye of round for rouladin, run through twice crosswise, is good, minute steak from rump roast cuts good.
If you are seeking tenderloin from rump cuts, no. Also, already tender cuts need no tenderization. They come out like hamburger and there are cheaper cuts to make good hamburger.
Things like the Jaccard tenderizer are good for flavor into brisket and such.
Its not a big investment. Try it and see what it does for you.
