I can hook up a hard wire and get +600 mps. Flip to wifi and nothing. Steps taken:
Confirmed wifi connection works on for my phone and another laptop. Works good and fast.
Logged out of wifi connection and back in.
Reset the wifi network on the laptop.
Still no go. Running on a hard wire run across the kitchen and living room. What's my next step here?
Pro tip: When you build or remodel a house, put Cat 5 ports everywhere. The wireless future turned out to be a dystopia.
Someone been messing with the IP/DNS settings on the laptop’s wifi adapter? Possibly set the up address/dns server to static entries that are not on the same subnet as the home wifi? Do you have a kid who uses the laptop besides yourself?
Maybe enable the hotspot on a cell phone if you have that and see if the laptop works over the phones wifi hotspot. If it does then there is a configuration issues with the wifi router. If it doesn’t then you have a configuration/driver issues with the laptops wifi adapter. |
