Subject: RE: Upgrading Planter to Clutches and Air Bags

Air bags can be as simple as a small 12v manually controlled air compressor with a pressure gauge in the cab to see how much pressure (psi) you have in the system.    If you want an automatic system I'll defer to someone that has experience in that as that's gonna be much more complicated and get more expensive.

The amount of down pressure is roughly 4x the psi that is in the system.   25 psi = 100 pounds, 50 psi = 200 lbs, 75 psi = 300 pounds, etc

I'll attach a couple pictures of the pages concerning air bag down pressure from the book for our 9000 White.

Not sure if you're aware of this or not but the air bags might interfere with your meter air hoses.   Someone on here had pictures at one time how they went about correcting that issue on a 6000 series with boxes, I think it was Berggrenfarms that has done it and posted pictures.
