Wisconsin | It won't put off as much heat for a certain temp of the slab, so if you're using a heat pump to heat the slab it will cost more. A wood boiler doesn't change efficiency running 140 degree water vs 120 degree water, so it won't hurt the burner. The slab will lose slightly more heat into the ground, but unless there's water close to the floor, that heat loss will be relatively small, so it won't make much difference for a slab on grade. might not want real hardwood floor, it would tend to dry more and open the cracks too much, engineered/laminate can work. If the place is very well insulated, the floor temp can be brought down and still remain warm, so none of this matters. | |
